And I couldn't care less how asinine you think it is.  Look at the Ring of Dishonor on this site.  Enough said.

Wishing chronic physical pain on someone is way out there. If you can't see that, then...

I hate it for a guy like Thigpen.  He gets thrown in a game late, down by a bunch and gets knocked because he has a couple early overthrows.  No mention of how he ran well for a great first down, threw the ball down into the redzone where he hits his guy dead in the numbers but the receiver completely blows it and essentially creates an interception single handidly.  Then he doesn't get a second chance and ends up with misleading stats like this.

He did two things particularly well.  He showed excellent run ability and he threw to the right guys.  You expect the first few passes to be overthrows in this situation and within just a couple of attempts he throws a perfect pass deep to a receiver who totally screws him.  All this guy does is come in and play with crappy guys in KC and makes them look good, then with crappy guys in preseason and makes them look good, then he comes in at the end of two games with little hope and immediately gives life to the offense.

I am not saying anyone should be calling for Henne to be pulled in favor of Thigpen, but to say anything negative about Thigpen given his limited opportunities is also not called for.  At least Thigpen shows some guts out there and doesn't play it safe constantly, I am so freaking tired of the boring crap.  Boring crap wins lots of games and all, but it rarely gets you to the ultimate goal.

Screw Thigpen...First off, Henne stays in, he's ok.  Don't forget Henne was the only QB in the league with no INT's up until last week. If anybody is subbing for Henne, it should be Pennington.

Cleveland and Chicago are in the market for a QB with the trade deadline near. If we have no plans on re-signing this guy at seasons end, time to cut Thigpen loose and get anything we can for him.

Cleveland and Chicago are in the market for a QB with the trade deadline near. If we have no plans on re-signing this guy at seasons end, time to cut Thigpen loose and get anything we can for him.

A couple of things here:

1)  Cleveland doesn't need a backup right now.  If both Wallace and Delhomme go down, isn't Colt McCoy supposed to be a potential QB of the future in waiting?  I doubt that they're looking for any sort of trade right now.

2)  I'd still rather have Thigpen as the backup in Miami.  Pennington isn't physically capable of winning a game if Henne goes down with any sort of prolonged injury.  He no longer has the physical tools.  He may be able to come off the bench and win a game against a bad team that hasn't scouted for him, but that's it.  As evidence of his declining ability I'll point to 2008, where every good defense he played against ate him for lunch...and that was 2 years ago.  He certainly hasn't gotten better with time and injury.  I'd love him to be the QB coach in Miami, but there's not much else I'd like to see him do.

Thigpen has skills that could be utilized if Henne gets hurt for a stretch this year.  I have no idea if the team can or should re-sign him after this year, but it's not like he'd be commanding any more than a VERY late round draft pick in any trade scenario...so why not keep him?

I think Henne is the clear number one guy right now.  All of the team's eggs are in his basket so let him develop and have a young, experienced QB back him up.

Cleveland won't play McCoy this year they have stated. He is sitting all season

Miami might not be able to afford to keep Thigpen as a backup. He will be in high demand next year on the open market and might have a few teams offering him a chance to start (Arizona,  Cleveland, Buffalo...etc).  With a salary cap back in place Miami might not be able to afford to keep Thigpen as a backup.

Just to clarify- you are talking about Colt McCoy, so as not to confuse our readers....
