New England

They have to fall off at some point.  Maybe this will be the year.  I don't think they'll be terrible, but maybe 9 wins, falling short of expectations.

Indy.  I think they're in trouble with or without Peyton Manning.

I think the Jets will disappoint people.  They won't completely suck but I don't think they'll make it as far in the playoffs.  Also, Mark Sanchez will get harrassed a lot more this year.  I just have a feeling.  Maybe it's hope but I can really picture teams getting to him this year more often than years prior.

It's scary how big the difference is for Indy depending on Manning's presence. I don't think any recent team has even come close to relying that much on one player. And, whatever you think of Manning, that's a dangerous tactic.

I think they'll be okay if Manning plays (as in 10+ wins). Without Manning, I could see them at half that.

I am going with the so called "dream team" in Philly as well. They may make the playoffs but I do not take them as a serious SB contender like most of the media seems too.

Was anyone actually picking them to do anything worthwhile this year?

I'm sensing this is a theme with you...hating the media-hyped "Dream Teams" like the Eagles, Miami Heat, etc...

Don't get me wrong... I hate the dream team effect that teams like the Yankees and Red Sox pull off, but the difference is that I only hate the dream teams that were put together by being able to outspend everyone else. I pay little attention to - and get very little annoyance from - the media hype machine's proclamations.

The only exception to that would be the old Cowboys team getting called "America's Team." That shit pissed me off to no end.

^ Word.

I don't mind the Eagles.  They are a dream-team in name only.  They are taking risks on a lot of players, but all within the salary cap -- I'm totally cool with it.  Best of luck to them, I say.  If they hit it big, then they took the appropriate gambles and I applaud them.  ...same with the Patriots in years past.  I don't like the Yankees version of that same concept, though.

I don't hate the eagles either.  I just think they are overrated.
