Yesterday for #14 Houston- 39/44 for 407 yards, 2 TD's no INT's. This season? He's completing a ridiculous 74% of his passes, has 34 TD's and 3 INT's. He also just became the NCAA all-time passing leader for career yards, and yeah, he was the guy who passed for 9 TD's in a game a couple weeks back, albeit against Rice (the school, not the food...although it may not have mattered). SO......I know the talk is all about Luck, but why is no one even mentioning this kid? What am I missing? -EK

Two words: David Klingler

Two more: Andre Ware

Both were record-setting QBs out of that Houston "air it out" system who didn't translate to NFL QBs.

plus this kid is a 6th year senior. He is a man playing against a bunch of  kids. Which always raises red flags.

He may turn out to be the real deal but I wouldn't go ga-ga over him. Like Stroke said Houston has put out many flops at QB. The 6th year senior thing. The level of competition he plays against.

Not to mention Houston doesn't play against top tier schools.  I would spend a later round puck on him but not an early one.

Reminds of that kid from Hawaii....Timmy Chang I think it was or something like that. Was a great QB in their system threw for a ton of yards and TD's but that never really amounted to much in the NFL!!!!

Chang was really small and played in that crazy June Jones offense in a conference with no defense. The games were fun as hell to watch, but yeah he wasn't a pro QB

Revisting this topic, Keenum was 45-69 for 533 yards and 3 TD's yesterday against Penn State in the TicketCity Bowl. NFL Draft Scout has him ranked as the # 8 QB, projected to be in the 6th or 7th round. I still think someone will take a gamble on the guy. Not saying he will necessarily pan out, but in the 7th round, there's not a lot of risk. -EK

^^^That was against a very good Penn State backfield.  Probably a late 2nd or 3rd draft pick.

I'd take him in the 6th or 7th round.  The late round picks are where you should gamble.

He will be long gone by the 6th or 7th round, but come round 4 or so if he is on the board he is worth a flyer depending on what Miami's QB situation looks like on that draft day.
