Ireland is right.  That fan is an asshole.  These are still people with families.  They deserve criticism, but there is a place.  When Ireland is walking around, you're a jerkoff for calling him out.

Ireland has to suck it up and stay professional.  I don't know that I'd be able to either.

JI is just showing emotion, that is all. He and any other G.M. will always have enemies, no matter what they do.

I see this as a non story, but with all the controversy of the team, is it any surprise he met a fan who thinks he should be fired. What's surprising is he met so many people who was pleasant. lol

Seriously, I feel for JI. He is literally starting over with a new staff. If he doesn't improve the team very soon, he will be gone.

For the record, a great response to the fan complaining about his track record and the team he put's on the field,  would have been, "well, I guess I did a good enough job building this team to sell you a ticket". lol

The media is looking to crucify Ireland to get clicks to their story, or listeners to their radio show.  Play up to what fans want.  Its miserable.

I think you guys aren't getting the real picture.

The person he called out, didn't go to the press, he was asked to call in.

How does that make this more of a story?

Exactly, who cares why or how he went public. Doesn't change the story at all. It's still a nothing story.

Unfortunately this is all distracting from the real story, which is Ireland is a nightmare of a GM. Overlooking the Brandon Marshall trade, signing Chad O-So-Sinkhole -- that kinda stuff -- a couple years back they couldn't get a deal done with Paul Soliai, ended up Franchising him, making him the highest paid lineman in Dolphin history. Now we have Reggie Bush playing out the 2nd year of a 2-year deal, meaning he probably walks next year. You'd think they'd be working on an extension

How the heck can you rip Ireland for Soliai? IT WORKED! He waited Paul out and ended up getting him at a huge hometown discount. So he had to franchise him for one year, so what? It ended up meaning nothing in the end.

You don't overreact and give RB's big extensions. Look at Chris Johnson for proof of that.Especially smaller sized running backs who has a history of being injury prone. There is no rush at all to extend Reggie Bush. If they did extend him now they would be beyond stupid!

I wouldn't necessarily label them stupid for extending him.  It depends on what they extend him for.  This is a perfect example I alluded to in another thread.  Locking a good player into a long term deal before his performance drives his price through the roof  is a big part of what makes perennial contenders successful.  Bush is 27 and in his prime.  Wanna extend him say $4.5 million a year for the next three years in base salary now?  If he has a bunch of games like he did against the Raiders, he's going to command a lot more than that on the open market.

RB's have a short shelf life in this league. This is year 7 for Reggie and he has a history of being injury prone. No way in Hell Reggie gets more than a 2 year deal and it will be front loaded so after 1 year he can be easily cut.

Apparently being injury prone has given him fresh legs.  Also, word is in New Orleans that he wasn't really taking care of himself which resulted in those injuries.  Now with the benefit of hindsight and the stigma of being traded for a six pack and a quart of pork fried rice, he's taking his job/career more seriously.  End result, his first 1000 yard season and being more of a complete back than ever.  It doesn't matter if it's a two, three, or four year deal.  Just lock him in now.

Punched in the mouth...

Ha, ha, ha. A person can call you names and that doesn't give you a right to assault them. I deal with wanna be tough guys everyday. They never do a damn thing, most people take the path of least resistance. I can tell them to go fuck their mother. They touch me and I can legally beat the shit out of them. After beating the shit out of them (If I'm physically capable of course), I call the police and press assault charges, then I sue them in civil court for my ongoing back and neck problems, then I own their ass. So my rule of thumb in life is that you can use your freedom of speech and call me names and I will do the same, but you don't physically put your hands on someone. Another thing you have to consider is that you never know who has a 1911 cocked and locked with them and once you fuck with the wrong one, it's game over and it's your fault.
