Per Adam Schefter: Dolphins coaching staff wanted Jennings, Front office wanted Wallace

Guess we know who won out!

Dislike. The last time this happened, we got Daunte Culpepper instead of Drew Brees.

The only person saying this is Saban, who needs it to be true in order not to look like a jackass who is clueless at the NFL level.

Saban WAS the front office AND the coach.  Do you think Huizenga jumped in and overruled his golden boy on the QB call?  That's too absurd to even consider.

Culpepper over Brees was Saban's call; no more, no less.  No pencil-pusher in a lab coat would have overruled him if he wanted to take the FA with a rebuilt shoulder instead of trade for the guy with a rebuilt knee.

He could wear 13 if Marino gives permission.

They might.  You're right about that.  And in all likelihood, we won't see Wallace wearing 13.  Just saying retired numbers can be brought back with the player's permission.

So much for the traditional hope of 87. Why are these kids so against the 80 series these days?

Your dad wore a number in the 80s.

Teens are 21st century.

I don't mean your dad wore a number in the 1970s; I mean, your dad wore a number in the 80-range.

i.e. a number in the 80-89 range is for geezers, 10-19 is what up and coming new ballers wear.

I gotcha. Just trying to be funny. Ha ha....oh well.

I've just been wondering about the numbers for awhile. It just seems weird to me.

That's one of my biggest NFL pet peeves. God I can't stand receivers with "teen" numbers. Thanks Keyshawn. Cheesy
