Most drafts have the LTs going quick since they are a typically a solid pick. The top few are predicted to be elite and then there is a large drop off.

Based on that writer's opinion, at least...  I think folks are sleeping a little bit on guys like Ezra Cleveland and Isaiah Wilson, who, imo, are a half notch below the big-5 this year.

Bottom line...if Miami really wants to add quality O-line in this draft, they can, and they really don't have to sacrifice the QB they like (whomsoever that may be) to get it.

This was never going to happen, Miami is not trading up for an LT without getting a QB, that's just pure nonsense. If anything, they're also trying to acquire the #3 pick which I am against since it would cost us our 2 extra first rounders and then some. Thomas is better than whoever we can get at 18 or 26, but not so much better he is worth all of that draft capital. Let's not be Bill O'Brien over here.

Really looking forward to the draft. Mainly the Dolphins' picks, of course, but also how it will work out technically. I wouldn't be the least surprised if the whole thing breaks down and everything gets delayed.

In somewhat draft related news, the Dolphins cut 5 players I've never heard about: LB Jake Carlock, LB/DE Jamal Davis II, WR Andy Jones, WR Terry Wright, CB Linden Stephens. and DT Gerald Willis.

Okay, I kinda remember Jamal Davis from one of the horrible early games last season Willis rings a vague bell as well. (The Packers picked up both.)

They've been doing mock drafts for awhile now under the new system, so I think it should run smoothly. It won't be very technical, just basically pick the player you want to draft and hit send. I think there are backups in place too like if you miss your 5 minute window the league will make sure it wasn't a technical error. Or, if you draft a punter 13th overall they may give you a ring and make sure you actually meant to destroy your franchise.

As long as Miami gets Tua at 5 or doesn't trade away the world to move up and get him, I will enjoy the rest of the draft.

Pro Football Talks' Mike Florio reports the Dolphins are attempting to acquire the No. 3 pick in order to make the Bengals a Godfather offer for the No. 1 pick.

I am 1000% against this. To acquire the #3 pick in the draft would cost us the 18th, 26th and 39th pick at the minimum. We are going to give the Bengals 4 1st rounders and multiple 2nd rounders for one guy when we have so many holes? Absolutely not, terrible idea. Going to make the Bengals a contender overnight with that draft haul, I hope this is just smoke.

What if they got the #3 pick and got Isiah Simmons? I'm on board with that depending upon the pricetag. I agree that getting the 1st pick is too high of a price to pay.

We need a tackle more than a hybrid defensive player and we won't be able to get one of the better ones if we move up to #3 for Simmons. The best plan is to really stay where we are and have backups for each pick. I don't think any GM wants to put his career on the line for Tua unless the Lions and Giants do something insanely dumb and move down 10 spots for just a 2nd rounder.

I just can't wait for tonight to start already so I can stop hearing reporters saying "My sources are telling me....." which translates to "Here is some BS that I just made up in the hopes that I get more air time."

Willis was the five star Gators transfer to the Hurricanes. Played well with Miami and was projected to be a third round pick entering last year's draft. Went undrafted and ended up with Miami.

Would it be unacceptable if Miami did a trade down from #5 to #12 and drafted Jerry Jeudy or Henry Ruggs III?

Some of the BS reporting is starting to repeat itself again:

Trading for Burrows is heating up again.  Miami trying to acquire 3 and 5 and trade it to Cinci for 1 overall in a "Godfather" trade.

Miami drafting Tua is looking unlikely

Miami is trading up to 3 for Andrew Thomas

That would be unacceptable.  WR is a luxury right now for Miami.

Would either one be willing to play QB?

Trading up to 3 for Thomas is perhaps the most laughable smokescreen we have put out so far. To think we would sacrifice that so many first rounders and picks just to draft a Tackle in a drfat loaded with them is so insane I don't know why any beat writer even bothered to report our lies.

For some reason that comment reminds me of when the Dolphins said they didn't just draft Ted Ginn, they drafted the entire Ginn family.   His Aunt Cora was a beast in press man to man coverage.
