It happened overnight so details are scarce, but either something popped up on Correa's physical or he got cold feet and wanted to sign elsewhere instead. He must have contacted the Mets as Cohen swooped in and signed him overnight. Their payroll is now projected to be $380 Million and good for them, they will still make a profit this year and now probably win the World Series.

Of course, the 2034 payroll will be something like $700 Million as he will have to release all of these 40 years olds still collecting money on their monster deals who are only batting .138 but as of now, he doesn't care.

As much as I shit on them, Yankees probably have the best rotation in baseball now, so they have to be considered even if their offense stinks. Still, the Mets are loaded and you know that when the trading deadline comes, they will get whatever they need.
