Derek Carr Contract Issues

Per Mike Garafalo, the Saints are about to sign Derek Carr. They make it sound like a done deal.

Just speculation on my end, but he had a great meeting with the Jets but they really want Rodgers. So, I think the delay is what may end up costing them. If they miss out on Rodgers too, and we should all pray they do, then I don't know where that leaves them. Probably Zach Wilson again with a guy like Carson Wentz as the backup.

4 Years/$150 Million with $100 Million guaranteed. $37.5 Million annual average. 9th highest for QBs right now but that will change pretty soon as the Class of Tua/Burrow/Herbert is going to get extended. This is why I started that Extend Tua thread, the price for QBs is going insane. Carr was released and got $100 Million guaranteed. Daniel Jones found an agent that wants to get him at least $40 Million a year. You don't want to be the last team who didn't extend their QB, whether he's the best or not, he will be paid more than all of them.
