I don't think the Astros had one black player on their team last year. Ricciardi isn't racist, just stupid.

Miguel Batista and Carlos Delgado are black? I thought Miguel was dominican and Carlos was puerto rican. Are we just lumping the latinos in with the blacks now to help streamline our prejudice? What about the asian players? Technically, they're more white than black...as long as you don't look at their eyes, they could pass for caucasian. Do we slip them to the left side of the color bar or the right?

Sorry...I love busting on anything involving racial issues.  Wink

I am curious about the lumping in the latinos with the blacks though. I've never heard anyone in the US call a latino as black...is that a canadian thing?

maine isn't in canada.

The point is there are too many whiteys on the team. J.P seems to hate any person that has at least a shade of a different color.

You take a look at guys like Sammy Sosa and you think they are black until you hear them speak.  Then you know they are latino.

The latinos actually had it worse back in the days in terms of racism.  To the blacks, they were white.  To the whites, they were black.

Whatever man,  just 'cause there aren't any black players on a team doesn't make the dude racist.  He just wants who he thinks are the best players he can get.  99.9 % of the NBA's teams don't have whites starting,  racism?  When was the last time you saw a (starting) white RB in the NFL?  That's just the way it is.

I don't know if these are your true sentiments or if you're just putting the question out there,  but I can't stand when people bring this "OMG no black people are on the team" stuff.   Where are they in the NHL?

OOOOOHHHHH:
