OK...I can breathe again. That last half a second was as long as any half second I've ever seen.

Suns win game 1 of the western conference finals by a score of 121-118. Boris Diaw with a career high 34 points, including the game-winner. Nash with a nice 27 pts and 16 assists after being offensively absent most of the game. Raja Bell down with a calf injury scares me though...especially when I heard he described it as "a pop."

Suns win, despite being flat out-played by the Mavericks. Suns win, despite only hitting 5 treys the entire game. SUNS WIN, SUNS WIN, SUNS WIN!!

Basketball Gods, hear me...I've prayed to you for a Heat-Suns NBA Finals for a very long time now. Is this the year, Lord, that you finally answer my hoop prayers? Please, do not leadeth me down the path of flaming disappointment, but deliver me unto hardwood heaven. Hallowed be thy name.

Raptors...the day Colangelo decided to join your franchise was a banner day for your franchise. Watch Toronto improve steadily over the next few years with Bryan calling the shots.

didn't he trade for Steve Nash, what was the trade.

having the #1 overall pick should help. how has he drafted for your team in the past. Nick Saban good or Dave Wanny bad.

Nash signed as a free agent...this time. Brian's been very solid in player decisions in his 11 seasons as our GM. In his first four drafts as the boss, the Suns plucked three players that most talking heads questioned at the time. Personally, I think Steve Nash, Shawn Marion and Michael Finley turned out OK... I thought grabbing Amare straight out of HS was a great call as well.

As good as Colangelo is at assessing player talent, the area I think he will help the Raptors the most is his ability to organize a front office. Ridiculously anal about all the organizational details, and always seems to put the right people in the right positions. If Toronto is really serious about building a front office that can support a winner on the court and keep basketball in Toronto for the long haul, then I think they made the perfect choice.

Congrats, Stroke, nice game by Phoenix.  Question, though:  were you screaming "That was NOT a foul!!" every time the whistle blew for some light breathing on Dirk Nowitzki (like I was screaming last series)?  Feel my pain, brother Sunstroke...

Mavs in 6.

You left out a couple of small words there...I think you must have meant to say "Mavs go home in 6"

The Suns are too erratic still.  They can go to Game 2 and look like crap so easily.

I think you could say this about every team left. None of them have been really consistent.

I haven't started screaming that at the TV yet...but I reserve the right to start protesting should Dirk start receiving massive amounts of phantom calls later in the series. Wink

And the Willis Reed "Lift Your Team to Victory" award goes to...Raja Bell, as the Suns are back in this thing.
