Game stalled Sad

Sorry about that.  I started trying to think of one and then got distracted with something else.

I am glad Pappy started it back up.

Maybe we should have a rule that if the answerer doesn't post a question in 2 hours it is a free for all any one can post the next one.

^^ The problem I'm having is when I don't know if someone else's answer is correct or not.  I don't know whether I can jump in.

^^^ there haven't been that many wrong answers.  So although it would be nice if the person who asked would say if the answer is correct or not...I would go with no response...probably correct.

Personnally I have found most of the time, even with the ones that stump me...when I read the answer I go, "duh...of course"

OK here goes:

A cop goes for his first day on the Los Angeles NARC Unit headed by a corrupt detective, while watching a California man learn to race on the NASCAR circuit while being trained by a southerner who had been in racing for a long time.

I have to point out a slight foul here...We said no characters, but The name of the movie is Ace Ventura:Pet Detective..or Ace Ventura: when Nature calls...

I'm just guessing Training days of Thunder

^^ I noticed that, too, but I think we're going to have to let some of that slide.

That movie is casually known as Ace Ventura.  ...just like in a previous question, I used "Halo", though it's really called "Halo: Combat Evolved", though I've never heard it called that in conversation.

^^^ I with Dave on this one.  Using the main title and what people call it and not including the subtitle is different than just using a character's name.  I would not have a problem if the answer is "Star Wars" (without "A new hope") but would if the answer was "Luke Skywalker".

Although I would not even have a problem with it if the clue writer clear indicated he/she was varying from the original rules.  E.g. A clue such as "the name of a main character in...."  But I thought the one with Queen Guinevere was too far out there absent such.

Dangit... was ready with the answer! Days of Thunder was eluding me... been a really long time since I've seen it (and I didn't think much of it).

I just wanted to bring up the point, for clarification, and to bring it to light.....

I'm in the same boat as FYO,I took a guess at Days of thunder (racing movie that started with "Days"),the clue doesn't sound like the movie I remember...but then again...I didn't think much of that movie either....

My New one...Another easy one for ya....

Land of the lost in space.

I'll defer to Hoodie for the next clue since I stole his thunder earlier. Smiley
